Review:
I am not going to lie but it took me ages to find this book. After searching in the 'Fiction' section of about four different Waterstones; I suddenly realised that it was not a work of fiction and was in fact non-fictional! So I go to the 'Autobiography' section and low and behold; there it is.

I felt extremely blonde, but I think my confusion was justified! I mean, the stuff that happens in this book; it is hard to believe that this all actually happened! It is just too funny!

It is hard to judge and review this sort of book as you are in effect saying how interesting someones life was...

Nonetheless, I did have high expectations for this book though from the Channel 4 television series which is based on it. However, they are nothing alike. Whilst the television adaptation has used similar events; they have had to sacrifice a lot to make them into coherent narrative that keep the viewer engaged. The television series is amazing though and everyone should watch it.

However, this is obviously not found in the diary as it is the raw, unedited (apart from name changes) material. I really liked this aspect of the book, and am glad that the diary was not edited in any major way as it really gives you an insight into the honest (and utterly insane) mind of Rae. This makes it really relatable for teenagers, and older women alike, as I can guarantee it will make you remember all the similar embarrassing events and feelings you experienced at that age.

One thing I did not like about the book, is that it is kind of repetitive. Rae is majorly boy-obsessed. Like majorly obsessed. I certainly hope when I was that age I was not like that... However, I think that the repetitiveness is more funny than annoying as it helps you understand Rae's mindset, and personality, and makes you reflect on your own teenage years and what you got up to!

Rating: 9/10. Real life Bridget Jones Diary, maybe?
