Review:
I read this book as part of my work experience at Endeavour Press but, despite from having to trawl through it whilst proofreading and formatting, I actually really liked it and quite enjoyed reading it. However, seeing as I did not have the chance to really engage and enjoy the book, I will make this quick...

What I really like about this novel is that it is a mixture of everything as it has crime, history, romance and a bit of adventure all woven into the plot. However, I really am not a fan of history-fiction and, in my opinion, those parts really dragged and bored me quite a lot. The interesting and very original story-line made up for this though!

However, I am not going to lie, it was a little bit predictable. Whilst there were some nice plot twists and surprises; the major revelation towards the end was not really the big surprise I think Anderson wanted it to be. Similarly, I thought the pace was a bit slow and could have been livened up as there were long periods of time where not a lot of progress was made in regards to the plot and story progression.

Rating: 5/10. Good read to waste a couple of hours.
