Review:
I have always wanted to read The Diary of a Young Girl but have never got around to it. In terms of writing, I cannot really comment as it is autobiographical so I will keep it short. However, this book does give an extremely interesting insight into what it was like to be a Jew during the war and what Anne, and her family and friends, went through in hiding.

Throughout the diary entries you get to know Anne and her personality extremely well. Similarly, you really get a sense of how she had to rapidly grow up and the difficulties she had to overcome. Her teenage innocence is something that really comes across as she was just starting to know who she was when they were discovered and taken away. In turn, this makes the outcome of the book even more tragic as you feel like you have lost a friend.

Rating: 10/10.
