Review:
Well, after the disaster that was Divergent (view my review here) and the redemption that was Insurgent (view my review here) I was not sure what to expect from Allegiant. However, I found myself unable to put it down and ended up getting quite burnt whilst reading in on a sunny afternoon!
I can see why so many teenagers are addicted to this series of books. The plot is oddly exciting and the characters are extremely lovable in a weird "why isn't Four my boyfriend?" sort of way.
What I particularly liked about Allegiant was that Four (Tobias's) perspective was also included, in a Twilight Jacob and Bella sort of way. Although not original, it really helped bring the two characters together show how perfect they are for each other. I particularly liked it when Tobias reflected on the first time they met and the beginning of their short relationship.
But (there is a but) what is with the ending?! Without spoiling the plot, I was left in a state of shock and immediately started shouting "WHY?!" at my bestfriend, who has also read the book. With such a big shock like that I expected the book to end fairly quickly but, no, it dragged and dragged for another fifty pages.
Other than the shocking ending, which made me consider writing a letter of complaint, I loved this book!
Rating: 9/10. Turned from a hater to a lover!
