Review:
My thing at the moment is running, so when I saw this on the shelf of my local supermarket I was immediately drawn to it. This could have been a fatal mistake and I could have been stuck with a dull read, but I was extremely lucky. I loved this book.
It is so nice for a change to review a book that I actually really enjoyed and found so refreshing. The characters were lovable, had depth and grew throughout the story. Whilst the end of the world is not an original idea, I am a sucker for a post-apocalyptic story and I thought it was executed really well with its' own unique twist.
There is one thing I did not like about the book - the ending. The whole book built up to the ending and Ed accomplishing his goal (I will try not to spoil it) and when I got there I was severely disappointed. It just felt flat and, in my opinion, was an extreme anti-climax. So, in my opinion, I would skip the last fifty pages.
Review: 10/10 - despite the ending...
