Review:
I have only recently watched the Jaws film and loved it! I was therefore quite excited to read the book upon which the film was based on. I thought it was going to be exciting and gory but I was quite wrong...

The plot was quite very boring. The shark, at times, seemed more like a subplot and the dramas and events of the town were more important and prominent in the book. I really struggled to maintain any sort of interest with the characters, and is probably why it took me two weeks to read it even if it is a three hundred page book! (That and binging on Netflix TV shows - oops).

If you are looking for a gory book, this is probably not for you and I would very loosely define this book as "horror" or a "thriller". Yes it is, at points, suspenseful but I would not stay up all night because I cannot put it down. In fact, it is very easy to put down and not return to for a couple of days!

For once I think I may have found a book that is worse than the film!

Rating: 2/10. Missable.
