Review:
After a long and agonising wait after Compendium 1 and 2 (my reviews can be read here and here) they finally released the third compendium of my favourite comic book series! It just so happens that it is my favourite television show too!

The third compendium answers a lot of questions from the previous comics and introduces a wealth of new characters. There are also some pretty awful / awesome (whichever way you look at things) killings all drawn in beautiful, horrific detail. So. Good.

Like the other compendium's, it did not take me long to read at all as the plot lines, characters and pictures draw you in. The characters and communities develop quite substantially in this installment and I for one felt a sense of gratification that they are eventually starting to settle down. That is not to say that all is well in the zombie apocalypse world - we meet an old villain from the past again and encounter even stranger ones. You will be sat there for hours - trust me - I was on the edge of my seat.

The comic book and the television series appear to be going, as with the last two series, going in different directions. However, in this compendium in particularly there are some quite important milestone events that are featured in both as when I was reading the comic, the television series was being aired, I could therefore more of less predict some things that were going happen. This, however, has not spoiled by enjoyment of either the comic books or the television series due to the craftsmanship and suspense featured in both mediums.

Many people would question why I would wait ages to buy a whole compendium of the comics when they are individually being released fairly regularly. However, there is logic in this. Firstly, I have extremely limited shelf space on my two bookcases and, unfortunately, I do not have room for a third. Similarly, I would rather be left hanging on a plot line once and for it to be for ages than have to be left hanging over and over and over again.

Rating: 10/10. Disgustingly awesome.
